MEMSIC MXC6255XC/U DTOS Accelerometers

MEMSIC MXC6255XC/U Digital Thermal Orientation Sensor (DTOS) Accelerometers are fully-integrated orientation sensors that operate on MEMSIC's patented MEMS-thermal technology and are built using a standard 0.18um CMOS process. These devices contain no moving parts (such as a ball), eliminating the field reliability and repeatability issues associated with similar products.  The click sound typically heard in ball-based orientation sensors is also eliminated. Shock survival is greater than 50,000g. DTOS detects four orientations, shake, and shake direction, and provides X/Y axis acceleration signals with low 0g offset. An I2C interface is used to communicate with this device and an interrupt pin (INT) is provided for shake and orientation. MEMSIC MXC6255XC/U DTOS Accelerometers also has a power-down enabled through the I2C interface.
