KEMET High Voltage X7R FT-CAPs
KEMET High Voltage with Flexible Termination (HV FT-CAP) surface mount MLCCs in X7R dielectric address flex cracking, the primary failure mode of MLCCs, which is typically the result of excessive tensile and shear stresses produced during board flexure and thermal cycling. The HV FT-CAPs from KEMET offer a voltage range from 500VDC to 3000VDC and low leakage current, exhibit low ESR at high frequencies, and are used as snubbers or filters in applications such as switching power supplies and lighting ballasts. Combined with the stability of an X7R dielectric and designed to accommodate all capacitance requirements, the flex-robust HV FT-CAPs are RoHS compliant, offer up to 5mm of flex-bend capability, and exhibit a predictable change in capacitance with respect to time and voltage. These devices offer industry-leading CV values, offering a capacitance range from 130pF to 0.33µF and an operating temperature range from -55°C to +125°C.In order to meet the growing demand for higher capacitance in surface mount high voltage MLCCs, KEMET has increased its capacitance offering by up to five times across most of their X7R dielectric platform. Advances in KEMET’s Base-Metal-Electrode (BME) high-voltage X7R technology have led to the development of some of the highest capacitance values available in the industry, including first-to-market values. Available capacitance has been increased in EIA 1206 thru 2225 case sizes and in rated voltages of 630VDC through 3000VDC. These new CV values offer optimization and downsizing opportunities for existing designs and will promote usage in applications requiring capacitance values previously unattainable in a high-voltage ceramic capacitor.
KEMET’s high voltage surface mount MLCCs are manufactured in state-of-the-art ISO/TS 16949:2002 certified facilities and are available in both commercial and automotive grades. Automotive-grade devices meet the demanding Automotive Electronics Council's AEC-Q200 qualification requirements, whether under-hood or in-cabin. Automotive-grade capacitors are designed for mission and safety-critical automotive circuits for applications requiring proven, reliable performance in harsh environments.
