Panasonic Industrial Devices PIR IR Motion Sensors
Panasonic PIR Motion Sensors are passive infrared-type sensors that detect changes in temperature (>4°C) from the surroundings and detect movement. With a wide sensing area, the Panasonic PIR devices are low profile and available in polyethylene (9.7mm) and silicon lenses (6mm). The PIR motion sensors feature sleep mode, which allows for a low current consumption of 1µA. The EKMC series offers embedded circuit design and eliminates external sensing circuits. These sensors detect changes in infrared radiation. This occurs when there is movement by a person (or object), which has a different temperature from the surroundings. This sensor is well suited for detecting the motion of people by their body temperatures in a wide sensing area.
Typical applications include security devices, wireless devices, housing and commercial equipment, walkway and street lighting, and energy-saving home appliances.
