Renesas Electronics RZ/A Series Embedded Arm Microprocessors
Renesas RZ/A Series Embedded Arm® Microprocessors combine high performance and ease of use with high graphic capabilities. The RZ/A Series enables solutions required for the future with proprietary technologies and the Arm ecosystem. Supporting faster graphics, digital audio signal processing, and device control, the device uses a high-bandwidth parallel 128-bit memory data bus, delivering superior memory throughput. A single RZ/A Series MPU accommodates a complete software stack of libraries, an operating system, application code, and a graphics frame buffer. With increased performance of 1000DMIPS at 400MHz and 6x throughput of 333MHz 16-bit DDR2, the RZ/A MPUs are an ideal solution for various applications.
The MPUs offered a simpler PCB design and decreased EMI via reduced switching with no DDR procurement issues, resulting in an accelerated time to market. High-resolution human-machine interfaces (HMI), embedded vision, and real-time Industrial Ethernet connectivity are implemented through a variety of Arm Cortex®-A7, A9, A15, and R4-based devices. Offering up to 10MB of on-chip SRAM, the RZ/A Series can buffer up-to WXGA resolution graphics eliminating the need for external SDRAM. The board design is made easy with the buffer up-to-WXGA feature and the ability to execute code in-place (XIP) from QSPI flash.
