48V direct to low voltage conversion

Engineers are being constrained by 12V systems, which do not support the higher power levels needed to deliver increasing levels of performance and functionality. As power increases, 12V buses become less efficient and consume more space and weight for cables to carry higher currents. 48V systems eliminate these inefficiencies by drastically reducing currents and power losses. Vicor-enhanced 48V converters/regulators enable efficiencies, cost, and size/weight performance comparable to 12V counterparts. They also provide more flexibility and solve the challenge of reducing the power flow to the load effectively, given cable, connector, and/or PCB limitations.
