Renesas Electronics RAA223021 Evaluation Boards
Renesas Electronics RAA223021 Evaluation Boards provide reference designs for low-cost, high-performance AC-DC conversion based on the RAA223021 700V Non-Isolated AC-DC Buck Regulator. The RAA223021 features ultra-low standby power and an integrated 700V MOSFET capable of delivering up to 8.0W output power. It supports output voltage as low as 3.3V. The RAA223021 combines constant off-time control for heavy load and Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) for light-load operation. The Renesas Electronics RAA223021 Evaluation Boards are offered in two configurations for design flexibility.
- The RTKA223021DE0010BU Evaluation Board features a high voltage flyback converter circuit that is designed to demonstrate a low-cost high-performance isolated AC-DC conversion from a universal input of 85V to 265VAC to a 12V output with an output current up to 1A.
- The RTKA223021DE0000BU Evaluation Board features a high voltage buck converter circuit that demonstrates a low-cost high-performance non-isolated AC-DC conversion from a universal input of 85V to 265VAC to a 12V output with an output current up to 667mA.
Both Evaluation Boards include a pre-installed RAA223021 in a SOIC-7 package.
The RAA223021 Evaluation Boards have built-in overcurrent, short-circuit, input brownout, and over-temperature protection. These Evaluation Boards are designed on a single side PCB with a full-wave input rectification. They are pre-compliant with conducted EMI requirements by EN55022/CISPR 22.
Required Equipment
- AC Power supply capable of generating AC voltage from 85V to 265VAC at 60Hz/50Hz, with at least 100mA output current capability
- Load resistor box with an adjustable value of 18Ω and up, or an electronics load that can emulate a resistor load or current load up to 667mA for the RTKA223021DE0000BU and up to 1A for the RTKA223021DE0010BU
- Multimeters to measure the output voltage and current
